Last updated: 1st September 2024

Purpose and Scope

This policy outlines the measures taken by Edviro Academy to safeguard children (ages 10–18) who participate in our live online group lessons, recorded lesson access, homework support, and community interactions (“Students”). We recognise that abuse and neglect can take many forms and ask all staff to maintain an attitude of “it could happen here.” Abuse may be physical, emotional, sexual, or result from neglect, and can be inflicted directly or through failure to act. Harm can also include witnessing abuse.

Further definitions of abuse and neglect can be found in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023, Appendix A.
