Terms and conditions.
The agreement between you and Edviro Academy when you register a student. Sections 6 and 7 cover cancellations and refunds, with worked examples.
1. About us
Edviro Academy is operated by Excellor Academy Ltd, registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, and “our”).
We provide live online lessons, recorded content, practice materials, and assessments for GCSE students.
You can find more information about our services on our website or by contacting our team at info@edviroacademy.co.uk.
2. Who can agree to these Terms
You must be 18 or over to agree to these Terms. If the student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete registration and accept these Terms on the student’s behalf. That acceptance is also the parental consent we rely on to process the student’s personal data, as described in our Privacy Policy, and to apply our Safeguarding Policy and Student Code of Conduct.
By registering you confirm you have read and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Safeguarding Policy and Student Code of Conduct.
By registering you also ask us to give the student access to lessons and content straight away, without waiting for the 14-day cancellation period to end, and you accept that if you cancel within those 14 days after the student has used the platform, the charge in section 6 applies.
3. Your plan, payments and renewals
We offer three ways to pay. The one you choose at checkout is shown on your confirmation email.
All prices are in GBP. Payments are taken by card through our payment provider on the dates shown at checkout. If a payment fails, we will notify you and retry; if it remains unpaid five days after our reminder, we may suspend access until it is paid.
We may change prices for future periods. For monthly rolling plans we will give at least 14 days’ notice by email before a new price applies at renewal. Annual and instalment plan prices are fixed for the academic year you have bought.
4. Access to content and acceptable use
Our lessons, recordings, videos, notes, homework and assessments (“Content”) are protected by copyright. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Content for the student’s own study while the plan is active.
You must not share login details, screen-record, download, copy or redistribute Content, use it for any commercial purpose, or attempt to bypass platform security. We monitor login and lesson activity (including IP addresses, Zoom attendance and chat logs). Accounts found sharing access or Content may be suspended or terminated without refund.
Access to recordings and resources ends when your plan ends.
5. Course delivery
Live lessons run to the published timetable for each year group and subject. We may change the timetable, teacher or platform for operational reasons; where a change is material we will tell you at least 7 days in advance where we can.
If we are unable to deliver a scheduled live lesson, we will reschedule it or provide a recorded lesson covering the same content. If we permanently withdraw a subject or course you have paid for, we will refund the unused portion of what you have paid on a pro-rata basis.
We are not responsible for delays or interruptions caused by events outside our control, such as internet outages or third-party platform downtime. We will tell you as soon as we can and take reasonable steps to limit the disruption.
6. Cancelling within the first 14 days
You have 14 days to change your mind. This applies on every plan: monthly, pay once, or instalments.
The 14 days count from the registration date. They do not start from the day the student first logs in, attends a lesson or opens any content. If you want to try Edviro before deciding, please use the platform during these 14 days. Registering and leaving the account unused does not pause or extend the period.
Why using lessons or notes has a charge
Our live lessons, recordings, interactive notes, homework, video solutions and assessments are our own work, written and designed by our teachers and examiners. In law this is our intellectual property: it belongs to Edviro Academy, and your plan gives the student a licence to use it for their own study (see section 4). It is the main thing you are paying for.
Once a student has attended a live lesson or opened a recording, a set of notes or any other resource, that content has been delivered. Unlike a product, it cannot be handed back: the teaching has been received and the material has been seen. So if you cancel within the 14 days after the student has started using it, we keep a fixed charge for what has been provided. It is not a penalty, and if nothing has been used, nothing is charged.
How to cancel
Email info@edviroacademy.co.uk with the subject line “Cancellation Request”, or WhatsApp +44 7454 178698. Include the parent’s name, the student’s name and the email address used at registration. We confirm receipt in writing within one working day, and your cancellation takes effect on the day we receive it.
What you get back
- If the student has not attended any live lesson or opened any recording, notes or other resource, you receive a full refund.
- If the student has attended a live lesson or opened any content, we refund what you have paid minus a fixed charge of £60. This charge is the same on every plan and covers the first two weeks of tuition and materials made available. We do not calculate it lesson by lesson.
- If you have paid less than £60 in total, we keep what you have paid and nothing more is owed.
There is no other cancellation or administration fee. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 14 days of your request.
Amira registers her son on 7 September on the monthly rolling plan at £220. He attends two Maths lessons and opens the Physics notes. On 15 September she emails to cancel.
- Registration
- 7 September
- Cancellation received
- 15 September (day 9 of 14, so within the window)
- Paid
- £220
- Fixed charge for content used in the period
- £60
- Refund
- £160, back to the card by 29 September
- Access
- ends on 15 September
If Amira had cancelled on the same day without her son logging in at all, the refund would be the full £220.
7. Cancelling after the first 14 days
How to cancel, on any plan
Email info@edviroacademy.co.uk or WhatsApp +44 7454 178698 at least 24 hours before your next payment date. It is the parent’s responsibility to know that date; it is in your confirmation email and your account. We confirm every cancellation in writing. Cancellations that arrive less than 24 hours before a payment date take effect after the following payment.
Monthly rolling plan
Your plan stops at the end of the month you have paid for. No refund is given for the remaining days of that month, and nothing more is owed.
Daniel registered on 3 October at £220 a month (all subjects). His next payment is due 3 November. He WhatsApps us on 1 November, more than 24 hours before, to cancel. No payment is taken on 3 November. Access continues to 2 November and then stops. Nothing is refunded and nothing more is owed.
If Daniel had messaged on the morning of 3 November, the November payment would already have gone through. Access would continue to 2 December and the plan would stop then.
Pay once (annual plan, paid upfront)
Access continues to the end of the course. No refund is given for the unused part.
Instalment plans
An instalment plan spreads a discounted total over a fixed number of monthly instalments. The discount is given for completing all of them. If the plan stops early, whether because you cancel or because an instalment fails, you are not charged any further instalments, and the discount no longer applies.
How “paid so far” works
We add up the instalments you have paid so far and value them at the standard monthly price for your course (for all subjects in Year 9, £220 a month). That tells us how many months of access you have already paid for, and access continues for that long, counted from your registration date. Nothing is refunded and nothing more is owed, whichever instalment you stop at. If you complete every instalment, the course is paid in full and access continues to the end of the course.
Priya chose five instalments of £370 for all subjects (£1,850 in total, instead of £2,200 on the monthly plan at £220 a month). She registered on 10 September.
- 10 September
- first instalment of £370 paid, plan starts
- 6 October
- Priya emails to cancel, more than 24 hours before the second instalment on 10 October
- Second to fifth instalments
- cancelled, never taken
- Paid so far
- £370
- £370 valued at £220 a month
- 1 month and 21 days of access
- Access ends
- 30 October
- Amount refunded
- none
- Amount still owed
- none
The tables below show what each stage is worth for all subjects in Year 9, for a plan that starts on 10 September. Dates for other start dates move in the same way.
| Paid so far | Worth at £220 a month | Access continues |
|---|---|---|
| £533 (1 instalment) | 2 months 13 days | until about 22 November |
| £1,066 (2 instalments) | 4 months 26 days | until about 4 February |
| £1,599 (all 3) | paid in full | to the end of the course |
| Paid so far | Worth at £220 a month | Access continues |
|---|---|---|
| £370 (1 instalment) | 1 month 21 days | until about 30 October |
| £740 (2 instalments) | 3 months 11 days | until about 20 December |
| £1,110 (3 instalments) | 5 months 1 day | until about 10 February |
| £1,480 (4 instalments) | 6 months 22 days | until about 31 March |
| £1,850 (all 5) | paid in full | to the end of the course |
If an instalment payment fails, we let you know and retry. If it is still unpaid five days after our reminder, the plan ends and the same “paid so far” calculation applies. You will not be pursued for the unpaid instalment.
8. When we can end your plan
We may suspend or end your plan, and no refund is given for the unused period, if:
- a payment remains unpaid five days after our reminder;
- you or the student breach section 4 (sharing access or Content); or
- the student seriously breaches the Student Code of Conduct, including behaviour that puts any person’s safety at risk.
Lesser Code of Conduct breaches are handled under the graduated approach in that document.
9. If something is wrong
If a lesson or resource is not as described or not delivered with reasonable care and skill, tell us at info@edviroacademy.co.uk. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you are entitled to have the problem put right, or to a price reduction or partial refund where it cannot be. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, to improve the service, or for operational reasons. We will email you at least 14 days before any change that materially affects you. If you do not accept a material change, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused period.
11. Liability
We are responsible for losses caused by our breach of these Terms, except losses that were unforeseeable, caused by events outside our control, or avoidable had you followed our guidance. Our services are for personal use; we are not liable for business losses. We do not guarantee any particular exam grade. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
12. Data and safeguarding
We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Live lessons are recorded for teaching and safeguarding purposes as set out in our Safeguarding Policy.
13. Disputes
These Terms are governed by English law. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a complaint, you may also refer it to an alternative dispute resolution provider.
14. Other terms
We may transfer our rights and obligations to another company, and will notify you in writing at least 30 days beforehand; your plan and any prepaid amounts are unaffected. You may not transfer your plan without our written agreement. If a court finds any part of these Terms invalid, the rest continues to apply. If we delay enforcing any term, we can still enforce it later.
